Quietus

I’m back from hiatus

I needed quietus

It didn’t upset us

To be gone for a while

I longed for a rest

I thought it was best

To chill in my nest

And recover myself

I figured a break

Was something to take

Some grey cells to make

To come back alive

But now I am here

Don’t fret and don’t fear

I’m back to the shmear

On my bagel

Don’t blame the poet

He’s bad and this shows it

I’m thinking you know it

I certainly do.

He gives it his best

He’s worse than the rest

But he shoots for success

Did he get there?

Not much energy for digging these days.
