Cold

I’m not sure what’s going on, but it’s pretty weird just at the moment.

When I went outside last night – you know, when I took Jay and Em for a walk – it was nice out. The air was warm, though it was certainly moving around a lot. This morning when I went outside for my morning constitutional it was cooler, of course, but still not bad – nothing out of the ordinary anyway.

But then later this afternoon when Em stooped to scoop I remarked how much colder it was than it had been. And it was! In fact, I was almost shivering. It was like I was living in the refrigerator thingy!

Then this evening when we went out again Jay put something on me that he called a coat. “This,” he said, “will help keep you warm on our walkies” and you’ll stay a bit dryer, too.” It’s black, with a bright red fuzzy lining.

He wasn’t wrong. It kept me both warm and dry, and even though it drove me crazy at first and I kept trying to get rid of it, I can sure appreciate the difference it made now.

The guys keep filling me with fear over this thing called “winter”. I’m not sure what they’re talking about, but if this cold is a precursor I’m pretty sure I’m not going to like it.
