I’m doing the best I can, but I really am having a hard time sorting out this poops and peeps business. Not to belabor it because I’ve gone over it before, but my timing seems to be way off.

Em took me for a run in a park today. There were no other dogs around so I’m ok, but I sure did get tired. I also did all my “jobbies”, as Jay calls them. But then I guess I was so excited that I did them again when I got home. On the floor. In the kitchen. “Hey, at least he hit the paper,” said Jay, and Em agreed. I took note of this because even though they weren’t particularly pleased at the time the paper at least seemed to take the sting out of their rebuke. I try so hard.

Jay took me for a walk around the block tonight, too. I sure did enjoy running through the grass – it tickled my belly and made me jump. It was really cool, in more ways than one. We spent a good half an hour ambling along, taking in all the sights and sounds and smells, then when I got home I saw the paper on the floor and immediately let go. As Bandit called it in Smokey and the Bandit, I did a “10-100 and a 10-200”.

They also got me a harness today, which is much nicer – much more comfortable than that silly old collar. When we went around the block I was wearing the harness, and I was pretty happy with the level of freedom and comfort it afforded.

Anyway, it’s late and I have appointments early in the morning, so “buenos nachos”
